Google Product Search Mobile

Frucall Mobile Shopping The name's Froogle, Google's Froogle. The site used and loved by many over the years has recently changed their name to, Google Product Search (lame, I know). For what I thought was that Google understood that boredom doesn't sell and that being creative is the key to success. The reason for the change in the name is based on a post by Marrissa Mayer and Jeff Bertelma, to make sure the product name can quickly identify what the product does. "the named caused confusion for some because it doesn't clearly describe what the product does."

So just because a few cannot understand the meaning why should it change the fun that others had with name. Google in previous years has built a flagship of turning their products to everyday words, ie "Just Google it" or "I googled you last night and was disappointed with the results." Froogle could've been the next technological verb/noun to enter the Oxford English dictionary, but 'Google Product Search' aint making the list anytime soon.

In February we wrote about the great addition to Froogle, Froogle for Mobile , 'Froogle Mobile' but now with the name change you have to access the mobile site of Google Product search, Google Product Search Mobile . The old link, http://wml.froogle.com/, just forwards to new Google Product search page. Hopefully the name will not effect the vision and development of a great product.
