Google Mobile - SMS

google-mobile-sms.jpg Just got word that Google Mobile enhanced their services with SMS features. Now you are able text Google with certain inquiries and received back text messages with results (answers). This great for users that do not have web enabled phones but the great disadvantage is the cost. You will not be charged by Google (of course) but by your carriers, so if you do not have a plan for unlimited SMS this service will be costly if you want information.

If you disregard cost then this service might be useful for some especially those who want information without the hassle (ie browsing the web). But at the end I believe the service will not do not much benefit to the wireless community in the long run as mobile technology evolves and uses new standards of communications.

Pros
- Quick simple information to your cell phone via SMS
- Short and Easy search features
- No need to browse Web to get key information (ie Flight, Stock Updates, etc)

Cons
- Cost of each SMS
- Information can be limited compared to Web Results
