reports Nokia is proposing a warning system that will detect lightning strikes. How so you may ask? A Lightning bolt is an electric current which emits radio waves; the proposed system will detect these waves and process it on a cell phone application that will give information if the lightning strikes are nearing. Basically, there are many receivers in phones such as Bluetooth, FM, GSM, etc., which can be tuned to pick up the radio waves.
This is an excellent safety tool for nature junkies(?) that don't let nature get in the away of an exhilarating outdoor activity. This system would also be great for common mobile users if it becomes a default application on all cell phones. Concerned about Nature? You should check out our Safety posts and also read Help! 911!
