Rumor’s out. We have another unlimited minutes challenger out there. That’s right, Boost Mobile, Sprint’s prepaid service is now out with a new service that allows you to talk unlimited for only $50-55 a month. This move obviously rivals MetroPCS, a comparatively small company who has taken a lot of pre-paid market share in various local markets across the nation from other wireless carriers (mostly in the prepaid market) due to their unlimited minutes offer.
However, while MetroPCS has limited coverage around niche calling markets with a very expensive pre-paid roaming package, the new Boost Mobile plan will allow users access to Sprint’s wider CDMA nationwide network. Currently, the move will allow boost customers to use voice only. Word is that they will roll out Boost’s walkie-talkie service in the summer, this being the only other drawback besides the availability of only one handset, the Motorola c290. Well Metro, here’s a toast to a good show; may the best deal win!
