So it’s finally here. Justice, will
it be served? Probably not (This is a philosophical response and has
no legal ramifications and to otherwise explain is outside the scope
of wigab). The Iraq Special Tribunal has sentenced Saddam Hussien to
death by hanging by January 26th 2007. “What, Where and
the How” the gruesome details are to be released.
In the meantime,
and why this is getting posted here amongst the very other dramatic
things in this world is that a fellow wigabber brought up the idea of
having the hanging podcasted. Sick, I know, but the resentful idea
was so strong, I couldn’t help but wonder. Does he deserve it;
perhaps, many times over, but to broadcast something like this is
horrendously real. And as we all know, the horrendously real rakes in
a lot of money for broad casters through advertising. If you don’t
believe me, then look at the terrible tokens of technology on the
internet. Whenever you see a gruesome video, you can also see how
many times the video was accessed and most times you will see
ratings. Search a gruesome video, say, someone getting hit by a bus,
or someone’s head getting decapitated and you will definitely see
ratings and bandwidth usage. It’s a dark, technologically fixated
world we live in. What do you think?
